Montessori Philosophy

Maria Montessori, the first female physician in Italy, devoted her life to the study of how children learn. Based on her scientific observations, she developed a comprehensive, child-centered approach to education based on the following principles:

Aid to Life

Education should prepare children for life - intellectually, emotionally and physically.

Inner motivation

Children learn best on their own, motivated by their innate need to explore and discover.

The teachers seek to understand the developmental level of each of their students at all times and to guide each child in the selection of appropriate materials.

Personal rhythm

Children should be allowed to progress at their own pace, regardless of ability or age.

Independent learning - Individual responsibility

Because most materials are self-correcting, children can work independently. In this way, they learn to think analytically and experience the satisfaction that comes from solving problems on their own.
